Bring It On

Her parents don't get it. Her boyfriend says forget it. The friends who voted her in now regret it. But does she got game? Bet on it.

It is no great surprise that Peyton Reed, the director, started his career in the movies a driver. Okay that’s a bit mean and I’m sorry.

This was a wonderful creative, hip movie. No, wait, I was thinking about something else! If not for Battlefield Earth (Sorry boss!) and Dungeons and Dragons, this would be the worst movie of 2000.

I’m finding it very difficult to say anything good… let me try…

Kirsten Dunst played a great role but I’m not sure if she was showing her versatility or just being herself. Dushku was, as ever, herself. She is in danger of becoming the next Sandra Bullock, with her very limited acting range, but thankfully for her, she’s a long way off from becoming Adam Sandler, a fate I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

The film on the whole is entertaining because it’s the few and far between funny bits that actually do make up for the rest of the tat.

Typically American (and not just because of the cheer leading) it’s the age-old story of good guys fighting bad guys with your typical twists and turns that are screaming out at you to be ignored – heaven forbid it might ruin the film!

As one of the characters says “cheerleaders are just dancers who have gone retarded!” – so why make a bloody film about it then?
